Helga Arendt

Helga Arendt ( born April 24, 1964 in Cologne, † March 11, 2013 ) was a German athlete who had - starting for the Federal Republic - was the late 1980s and early 1990s, a successful 400-meter runner.

Helga Arendt was 1.78 m tall and weighed about 64 kg competition times. They first belonged to the Pulheimer SC, ASV Köln, sports club Eintracht Hamm and later the LG Olympia Dortmund.

Services

At the World Indoor Championships in 1989 she was champion in the 400 -meter run.

On February 20, 1988, she was involved in Dortmund on a world indoor record in the 4 x 200-meter relay race, in which a squadron of SC Eintracht Hamm ( Helga Arendt, Silke- Beate Knoll, Mechthild Kluth, Gisela Kinzel ) a time of 1:32,55 min reached. Helga Arendt won a total of twelve German championship title.

Doping

During her career, Arendt was involved in the EC Eintracht Hamm in the so-called " hammer model " organized into a system under the then national coach Heinz -Jochen Spilker doping. Starting at the age of 22 years, her Stromba was administered. After the death of Arendt, the doping -victim Aid Association called on the German sports organizations to work up the former chemical networks in East and West.

After the athletic career

After her athletic career Arendt, who had studied law in Münster worked as a lawyer. As such, it was approved in 1997 and led to a certified specialist for traffic law since 2005.
