Heligholmen is a 11.8 acre island in the parish Vamlingbo in the south of the largest Swedish island of Gotland. It is located about 300 meters from the shores of Gotland away, near Holmhällars Raukengebiet in southern Gotland. The island is a bird sanctuary and may not be entered from 15 March to 30 June. Carl Linnaeus visited and described the island during his trip to Gotland in the year in 1741. The shallow reef between Holmhällar and Heligholmen is called Hästgangen and has dangerous underwater currents .. The only building on the island is the lighthouse built in 1913.
