Helium (film)

Helium is a Danish short film by Anders Walter from 2014. Had its premiere on 25 January 2014, the International Film Festival Rotterdam. On January 16, 2014, the film was nominated for the Academy Awards in 2014 and awarded on March 2, 2014, an Academy Award for Best Short Film.

Action

Alfred is a boy who suffers from an incurable disease and is in a hospital. There, the nurse learns Alfred Enzo know, during that goes by his work. Between the two, a friendship developed and Enzo begins the boy a story about helium to tell as beautiful and exciting alternative to the afterlife in heaven. Enzo tells Alfred that you can reach only with a helium airship. The airship will but recognize him at his knotted from a red balloon dog and take him.

Alfred's illness worsened and he was transferred to another department at the hospital, to the Enzo has no access. Enzo still sneaks up to him. He gets caught and he is also prohibited from the entry. In an interview with Sonia, a nurse, Enzo blames himself, as he told the boy lies. Sonja replied but that Enzo has given the boy hope.

Da Enzo Alfred can not visit in his department, he writes down the end of history and Sonja will read this Alfred. When she attaches to it decides otherwise and granted Enzo access to the department so that it can tell Alfred the end itself.

Alfred wants to know how he can enter the airship, at Enzo's response, the camera switches to the view of Alfred's. Without words Alfred rises attracted out of bed and goes to the window. There, a huge airship is waiting for him. He walks over a plank from the hospital on this and flies away. Alfred misses the fact that in many windows of the hospital red balloons knotted from dog stand.
