Helix (multimedia project)

Helix Technology is a family of multimedia software for the production, delivery and playback of multimedia content from the U.S. software company RealNetworks. In addition to the products of the commercial Helix Media Delivery Platform respective open source basic variations to the commercial counterparts are offered under the brand " Helix DNA ", which will be further developed since release in collaboration with the open "Helix Community ." RealNetworks hoped that the release of a better market position against stronger competitors of Apple and Microsoft. Both product lines each carry the same version number.
