Hellisey

Hellisey is one of the Westman Islands south of Iceland.

This uninhabited island is located 6 km southwest of Heimaey and 13 km northeast of Surtsey. She only has an area of 0.1 km ² and extends to about 100 m above the sea level.

Hellisey was also a fishing boat. It sank on 12 March 1984. Guðlaugur Friðþórsson was the only survivor of the crew. He swam 5km to after Heimaey.
