Helmar Frank

Life

From 1953 to 1959 Helmar Frank led a working group rhetoric at Stuttgart. Frank was in 1959 with the dissertation topic basic problems of information aesthetics and first application to the pure mime Dr. phil. his doctorate at the University of Stuttgart. Subsequently, he taught mathematics and physics at North Württemberg schools. From 1961 to 1963 Frank was a researcher in cybernetics research group learners machines at the Technical University of Karlsruhe. With 30 years he occupied in 1963 as the youngest professor in Germany the Institute for Information Science (later of Cybernetics ) the Pedagogical University Berlin, where he established the Institute of Cybernetics on. During this time, he defined among other things the concept of unusual events.

1969 decided the Ministry of Culture of North Rhine -Westphalia, that the research and development center for objectified teaching and learning process ( FEoLL ), which was initiated with the computer pioneer Heinz Nixdorf, should be located in Paderborn. Hub Frank were also Miloš Lánský and Walter Scholer Institute of Directors FEoLL. This led in 1972 to the founding of the University - Comprehensive University of Paderborn, moved to the Frank Professor of Cybernetic Pedagogy and where he also pursued until 2006 the teaching as Emeritus.

In the late 1970s, he led an international experiment to study the propaedeutic value of Esperanto. He could prove empirically for language orientation lesson in the world famous the Paderborn model that by learning a model ( in this case, the constructed language Esperanto ) the actual learning material (in this case, the foreign language English ) is easier to learn and the investment of time learning the model is also caught up.

Frank was honorary and permanent visiting professor at the Universities of Berlin ( Technische Universität Berlin), Guangzhou, Nitra, Prague, Rosario and Sibiu ( Sibiu). He was co-founder and longtime president of the International Academy of Sciences ( AIS) San Marino.

By 2007, Frank editor of the journal " Basic studies of cybernetics and Humanities" was ( grkg Human Cybernetics ).
