Helmut Deutsch
Helmut German ( born December 24, 1945 in Vienna) is an Austrian pianist and accompanist.
German taught from 1967 to 1979 at the Vienna Music Academy and was from 1986 to 2011 professor of song interpretation at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich held. The university in Munich and other German universities (Frankfurt and Nuremberg ), he is also connected through visiting professorships and gives master classes throughout Europe. He is or has been vocal accompanist of many singers in many houses and festivals of international renown. With Hermann Prey, he worked for 12 years together intensively. Other important singers who accompanied German, were Irmgard Seefried, Ileana Cotrubas, Grace Bumbry, Barbara Bonney, Angelika Kirschschlager, Annette Dasch and Diana Damrau, Olaf Bär, Bo Skovhus, Michael Volle, Matthias Goerne, Bernd Weikl, Andreas Schmidt and Jonas Kaufmann. For many of his recordings, he got record prices.
