Helmut Winklhofer

Helmut Winklhofer ( born August 27, 1961 in Irsham, market Fuerstenzell, district of Passau ) is a former German football player.

Career as a player

Clubs

Winklhofer was early in the season 1980/81 in the first team squad of FC Bayern Munich. In midfield, he made his debut on November 7, 1981 ( 13th matchday of the 1981/82 season ), when he came off the bench for the second half for Wolfgang Kraus in the home match against MSV Duisburg ( 4-0). On May 29, 1982 ( 34th Round ) he came to his second, which he also with the intermediate 1:1 in the 44th minute, with the 1-3 defeat in the away game against VfL Bochum, his first Bundesliga achieved.

From 1982 to 1985, he then played for Bayer 04 Leverkusen as a defense, in the last season as a midfielder.

National

On September 23, 1978 Winklhofer debuted in the U-18 national team defeated Austria 2-1 in Weinheim. In his penultimate game for this selection team he succeeded on May 18, 1989 in Gommern as part of the UEFA youth tournament in a 6-2 victory over the selection Finland its only international goal.

Winklhofer won the Junior World Championship at age 20. In the final on 18 October 1981 in Sydney Germany won with Winklhofer in the starting lineup against Qatar 4-0. Among the goal scorers in the final also included Roland Wohlfarth from MSV Duisburg, the future of club players Winklhofer at Bayern. Together with Ralf Loose was the Bayer with four goals in six games top scorer in the West German junior national team.

Career as a coach

After pro career at Bayern Munich, he was from 1991 until December 1994 and again in 2002/ 03 player-coach at TSV Emmering. Since 2007 he has been coach of the first team of the ASV Rott / Inn.
