The Tellaro, formerly called Eloro or Heloros, is a river in the southeast of Sicily.

It rises at an altitude of about 840 meters on the slopes of the mountain Erbesso the Iblei in the town of Giarratana and flows down the valley past the towns of Palazzolo Acreide. For more than half of its course the river forms the border between the provinces of Ragusa and Syracuse to the point at which the Tellesimo, the largest tributary of the Tellaro opens. Other tributaries are Musca, Montesano and Gisira.

After a distance of 45 km of Tellaro flows south of Marina di Noto in the Ionian Sea. In the area of the estuary was the ancient place Eloro, which had been founded by Corinthian colonists in the 7th century BC and the river got its name. Today, the not yet fully excavated remains of the settlement form one of the most important archaeological sites in Sicily. South of the estuary lies the nature reserve Riserva naturale Orientata Oasi di Vendicari faunistica.
