Helvig of Schauenburg

Heilwig of Holstein (* 1400, † 1436 ) was Countess of Oldenburg and mother of Christian I, the first king olderburgischer line.

Life

Heilwig of Holstein was a daughter of Gerhard VI. of Holstein- Rendsburg ( * 1367, † August 4, 1404 ) and Elisabeth of Brunswick and maternal granddaughter of Magnus II of Brunswick -Lüneburg. Heilwig was a sister of Adolf, who took over the education of their sons after her early death.

On November 23, 1423 Heilwig of Holstein and married Dietrich von Oldenburg. The couple had the following children:

  • Adelheid (* 1425, † 1475 ) - married with 1 Ernst III, Count of Hohenstein († 1454) and second Gebhard VI. . Mansfeld († 1492)
