Helwan Governorate

Helwan (Arabic محافظة حلوان Muhafazat Hilwan, DMG Muhafazat Hilwan ) was a governorate in Egypt, and was in the south of Cairo. The government insisted on the basis of the Presidential Decree 114/2008 since 18 April 2008.

The government included the towns of Maadi Helwan, Helwan, 15th May City, New Cairo, Haikstep, and Badr al- Schuruq.

As part of the appointment of several new governors, the government was lifted on 14 April 2011 Prime Minister Essam Sharaf by the Egyptian and slammed the area the government of al - Qahira.
