Hem (Nord)

Hem is a northern French village with 17 988 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Nord, in the Nord -Pas -de -Calais. The municipal area is directly connected to the city of Roubaix in the north, in the canton Lannoy.

Location

The community is located near the border with Belgium. Your city is bordered to the north directly to Roubaix. History

In the Middle Ages the town as ham or Hem was already known. Since 1672 up textile factories found in Hem. After the Second World War, the population increased more than 10,000. The place was known as 1977 Hanns Martin Schleyer was killed in Hem.
