Hemarthrosis

The term refers to a disease of a joint hemarthrosis by the repeated and continuing hemorrhage.

Affected patients are often suffering from a hereditary bleeding disorder ( hemophilia), or " bleeders " ( " hemophiliacs "). In this disease there is, even at insignificant occasions, always severe, bloody effusion. This lead to an expansion of the joint capsule and scarring of the inner joint space. These so-called " Blutergelenke " develop quickly at a young age, severe arthrosis.
