Hematopoietic stem cell

Hematopoietic stem cells or blood stem cells are stem cells, which primarily occur usually in the bone marrow. They are the starting point for the entire cell neoplasm of the blood and the immune system ( hematopoiesis ). Blood stem cells are the cells from the bone marrow or cord blood to be used in transplantation for the treatment of leukemias (→ stem cell ).
