Hemipelvectomy

The hemipelvectomy is the most drastic form of disarticulation in the lower extremities.

It will be placed on one side of the entire lower extremity including a complete half of the pelvis to the sacrum (Latin: sacrum ), with which it is connected in the joint removed. This usually comes before only in malignant tumors or similar serious diseases. Being in this area takes place, the actual production of blood cells, such surgery is serious addition to the static complications. A prosthetic aftercare here is very problematic.
