Hemslingen

Hemslingen is a municipality in the district of Rotenburg ( Wumme), Lower Saxony. Hemslingen is part of the integrated municipality Bothel - with 27.46 km ², the second largest area municipality within the integrated municipality.

Community structure

Hemslingen consists of the two districts Hemslingen and Söhlingen.

Geographical Location

Hemslingen is located about 14 km southeast of Rotenburg ( Wümme ), 8 km north-west of New Churches, 6 km east of Bothel and 10 km west of Schneverdingen. The Bruchwiesenstraße stream runs between the two districts. The highest elevation is the Hollerberg 52.8 m above sea level.

Geology

The richest part of natural gas. In the area around Hemslingen is one of the largest reserves of natural gas in Germany.

History

On March 1, 1974, the neighboring community Söhlingen was incorporated.

Economy and infrastructure

In the municipality is one of the largest natural gas deposits in Germany. In Bothel, Brockel and New churches are the nearest clinics for general medicine. As the only municipality of the velvet municipality Bothel Hemslingen part of the physicians' willingness service district Soltau.
