Henan Airlines

Henan Airlines (河南 航空), until 2009 Kun Peng Airlines (鲲 鹏 航空 有限公司) is a Chinese regional airline based in Zhengzhou.

History

In December 2006, a joint - venture agreement establishing the Kun Peng Airlines between Shenzhen Airlines and Mesa Air Group has been closed. The flight operations as scheduled, charter and cargo airline started in October 2007. Aircraft Bombardier CRJ200 leased from the Mesa Air Group.

In August 2008, Kun Peng announced to move its headquarters and home base to Zhengzhou. Kun Peng currently serves more losses, but hopes to be profitable with the installation. The Company intends its fleet to 200 aircraft and expand its route network to 900 daily flights by 2016. Also in August 2008, the Mesa Air Group announced its stake in Shenzhen Airlines to sell.

2009, the airline was renamed Henan Airlines, after the joint venture was dissolved. On several sites but is still the old name in use.

With as of May 2012, no aircraft registered in Henan Airlines.

Incidents

  • On August 24, 2010, an Embraer ERJ- 190, the airline failed with 96 people on board the runway of the airport Yichun in dense fog at two kilometers, broke in two and caught fire. 42 Of the 91 passengers and five crew members died; 54 were injured, some seriously.
