Hendek

Hendek is the name of a district town and a district in the northwestern Turkish province of Sakarya; it is located on the E80 between Istanbul and Ankara. Hendek has 44 247 and County 73 815 inhabitants ( 2010). Geographically Hendek forms a connection between the Marmara Sea and the Black Sea region. The area consists mostly of plains. In the south and the north they are surrounded by mountain ranges. The district lies to the east of the province and borders the provinces of Bolu and Düzce.
