Hennessy

Hennessy [ ɛnsi ː ] is a world-leading cognac distillery located in Cognac (France). It is a subsidiary of luxury goods group LVMH.

History

The company is run in the eighth generation of the family Hennessy. Founder of the company in 1765, was the officer Richard Hennessy, the Irish immigrated to Cognac and initially operate only trade in the 18th century. It was not until his son James Hennessy began with the distillation. Already in 1794, the first products were exported to overseas. The company is since 1813 " Jas Hennessy & C ° ".

Under the leadership of Kilian Hennessy Hennessy graduated in 1971 with the champagne producer Moët et Chandon together. 1987 merged it with the coalition Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton handbag manufacturer for global industry leader in the luxury goods industry Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton ( LVMH).
