Hennig Wichmann

Hennig Wichmann († 1401 in Hamburg) was a leader of the Likedeeler, an association of former Vitalienbrüder.

Together with Klaus Störtebeker, Klaus Scheld and MA Wigbold, also leader of the Likedeeler, he made the end of the 14th century, the North Sea and Baltic uncertain. They had fast ships, the lightning, the ships of the Hanseatic mustered and boarded. Here, however, it was them primarily about making loot, and not about the fight, so that those who do not defend themselves, were mostly "just" thrown overboard.

Wichmann was executed in 1401 together with Klaus Störtebeker along with 71 followers on the Grasbrookhafen against Hamburg.

A leaflet from the 1701 confirmed:

The first name is Hennig later literary ingredient. In contemporary archival sources Wichmann is not detectable, but only in the chronicles of the 15th century.
