Henning Jensen

Henning Jensen ( born August 17, 1949 in Nørresundby ) is a former Danish football player.

The striker Henning Jensen began his career with his hometown club Nørresundby BK in Aalborg and moved in 1972 to Borussia Mönchengladbach. In his first season he was a regular player and scored eleven goals in 33 games. Together with him moving to the Gladbach his compatriot Allan Simonsen. Simonsen had initial difficulties, however, was, together with Henning Jensen and Jupp Heynckes in the attack of the guarantor for winning the German Cup in 1974 / 1975. In the same season he won the UEFA Cup in the final against FC Twente Enschede. In 1976, he was able to defend the title in Mönchengladbach in the Bundesliga. After he won the 1973 DFB-Pokal and lost the final of the UEFA Cup against Liverpool already in the same year, 1976 was a very successful time for the Danes to an end. In total, he played 125 times in the Bundesliga, scoring 44 goals. He moved to Real Madrid, where he played with Paul Breitner. In 1978 and 1979 he was with Madrid Spanish masters and then moved to Ajax Amsterdam. His career ended in the 1980s in Denmark with his original club Nørresundby BK.

In the Danish national team, he played 1972-1980, but without major successes that should be made only under coach Josef Piontek reach Denmark from 1982. He played a total of 21 matches.
