Henri Bouillard

Henri Bouillard (born 13 March 1908 in Charlieu, † 22 June 1981 in Paris) was a French Jesuit and university teachers.

From 1941 to 1950 Henri Bouillard taught at the Faculty of Theology in Lyon - Fourvière. In 1950 he be dortiger chair was withdrawn because he was just like Henri de Lubac a follower of the Nouvelle Théologie. He completed his habilitation with a thesis on Karl Barth and was professor of fundamental theology at the Institut Catholique de Paris. Together with the Jesuits and later Cardinal Jean Daniélou he founded in 1967 the Institut de Science et de Théologie des Religions ( ISTR ).

Thomas Aquinas, Karl Barth, Maurice Blondel and Eric Weil influenced mainly Henri Bouillards theological thinking.
