Henri Gagnebin

Henri Gagnebin ( born March 13, 1886 in Liege, † June 2, 1977 in Geneva) was a Swiss composer.

He studied organ with Louis Vierne, theory of composition and orchestration at Vincent d' Indy and Joseph Lauber. From 1925 to 1957 he was director of the Geneva Conservatory. Close friendships connected him with Mstislav Rostropovich, Arthur Rubinstein, Ernest Ansermet, Andrés Segovia and Frank Martin. In 1977, he died in Geneva.
