Henri Marquet

Henri Marquet ( born June 19, 1908 in Paris, † unknown) was a French assistant director and screenwriter who was mainly known for his collaboration with the great success of Jacques Tati and once was nominated for an Oscar for best original screenplay.

Life

His collaboration with Jacques Tati began Marquet 1947 at the Short Film School, the postman (L' École des facteurs ) as an assistant director. In 1949 he wrote the screenplay for Tati Tati's breakthrough Marksmen ( Jour de fête ) in which led Tati Director and beside Guy Decomble and Paul Frankeur played the lead role.

He had his greatest success with the screenplay for The Mr. Hulot's Holiday (Les Vacances de Monsieur Hulot, 1953), again directed by and starring Tati and Nathalie Pascaud and Michele Rolla in other roles. For this he was nominated together with Tati at the Academy Awards in 1956 for an Oscar for best original screenplay.

In his last two collaborations with Tati Marquet was again assistant director: For one of My Uncle ( Mon Oncle, 1958 ), in which participated alongside Tati, among others Adrienne Servantie and Jean -Pierre Zola, on the other hand Playtime (Play Time, 1967) by and with Jacques Tati and Barbara Dennek and Rita Maiden in other roles.
