Henri Meilhac

Henri Meilhac ( born February 21, 1831 in Paris, † July 6, 1897 ) was a French dramatist and librettist.

Life

Henri Meilhac attended the Lycée Louis -le- Grand, then worked for several years with drawing working (staff member of the Journal pour rire ) and brought in 1855 his first two pieces on the stage, although they had no external success, but as the critics samples other than an insignificant invention talent has been recognized that to train then soon broke. Since 1888, he belonged to a member of the Académie française.
