Henri Pourrat

Henri Pourrat ( born May 7, 1887 in Ambert, Puy-de -Dôme, France, † July 16, 1957 ) was a French writer.

In his novels he treated the mythical excessive nature. Particularly well known he was by Le trésor of contes ( 13 volumes, 1948-1962 ), a collection of fables, legends and oral traditions from the Auvergne.

In 1941 he received the Prix Goncourt for his novel Le vent de mars.
