Henri Sarolea

Henri Sarolea ( born January 18, 1844 in Maastricht, † September 12, 1900 in Heerlen ) was a Dutch railway engineer and also co-founder of Heerlen Oranje Nassau mining company.

After a few years in the colonial service in the Dutch East Indies (Indonesia) Sarolea drew for his last years to Heerlen. Heerlen was then still a rural village embossed. Trivia

In Heerlen one of the main shopping streets is named after Henri Sarolea. The Saroleastraat (or Sarool as they say in Heerlen ) leads from the main railway station in the inner-city business center of Heerlen.
