Henrietta Leaver

Henrietta Leaver ( born March 28, 1916 in Monongahela at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania as Henrietta Applegate, † September 1993 ) was the ninth Miss America 1935.

Henrietta Leaver worked in a small five and dime store in McKeesport. In 1933, she won for the first time the title Miss McKeesport, repeated this success in 1935 and won at a beauty contest the title Miss Pittsburgh. In the same year she also won in Atlantic City the title of Miss America.
