Henriette van Lynden-Leijten

Henriette Johanna Cornelia Maria van Lynden - barones Leijten ( born October 9, 1950 in Gilze- Rijen, † November 5, 2010 in Sint -Oedenrode ) was a Dutch diplomat.

Life

During her career, she held various diplomatic posts in Cairo, Beirut, London and Brussels. From 2001 to 2005 she was the Dutch Ambassador to Bulgaria. For their efforts to strengthen the Dutch- Bulgarian relations, their July 2005 by President Georgi Parvanov, the Order " Stara Planina " was awarded first class. After her return from Bulgaria, she was his Foreign Ministry Director of the Department of North Africa and the Middle East.

In April 2009, Van Lynden - Leijten was appointed as the Dutch ambassador to the Holy See. In October of the same year their accreditation. This post had Van Lynden - Leijten held until her death.

She was married to the Dutch journalist Aernhout baron van Lynden. November 2010 she died as a result of cancer.
