Henrik Holm

Henrik Holm ( born August 22, 1968 in Taby ) is a former Swedish tennis player.

Life

Holm began at the age of five years with the tennis game. His parents were both connected to the sport of tennis; his mother was a tennis instructor and his father was a former Swedish Davis Cup player. Holm was a professional tennis player in 1988 and entered the first years in the doubles with his younger brother Niels. First world ranking points they won as a double winner at the Satellite tournament in Austria. The following year, Holm won the Challenger tournament in Dublin his first individual title with his brother, he reached the semi-finals of the tournament. In 1990, he won the Challenger tournament in Aptos and the brothers won the title at the Challenger tournament in Geneva, the year after they won with São Paulo and Istanbul, two more Challenger doubles title.

Together with Stefan Edberg he was in the final of the Masters tournament in Cincinnati, with Anders Järryd he won the Swedish Open and Rotterdam, as well as with Martin Damm the ATP tournament in Munich. In 1994 he won at the side of Järryd two more tournaments together, they also reached the final of the Masters tournament in Hamburg. Throughout his career, he won five doubles titles, four more times he stood in a double finals. Its highest listing in the tennis world ranking he reached in 1993 with position 17 in singles and in 1994 with position 10 in doubles.

His best individual result at a Grand Slam tournament was the second round participation at Wimbledon in 1992. Doubles he stood in 1994 in the second round of the Australian Open.
