Henrik Kristoffersen

Henrik Kristoffersen ( born July 2, 1994 Lørenskog ) is a Norwegian ski racer. His strongest disciplines of slalom and giant slalom.

Biography

Kristoffersen grew up in Løvenstad in the community Rælingen and came in 2000 to Rælingen Skiklubb. In February 2009, he won his age group in the slalom and the giant slalom of the Trofeo Topolino, the premier international children's ski race. After reaching the age limit, he participated in the 2009/2010 season for the first time participate in FIS races. At the end of this winter he was in the FIS World Ranking in the disciplines of slalom, giant slalom and super combined the best of his year. In February 2011, the then 16 -year-old has once again made international attention when he won the slalom and the giant slalom of the European Youth Olympic Festival in Liberec. He also celebrated at national level successes and reached next top places at Junior Championships in third place in the slalom the Norwegian Championships in 2011.

After Kristoffersen had participated for the first time in two European Cup race in November 2010, but remained still without points, he's regularly since the season 2011/ 2012 in this series at the start. He found especially in the slalom rapidly after the peak, drove on January 19, 2012 in Lenzerheide for the first time in the top ten and celebrated on February 12th and 13th of the same year his first two European Cup victories in the slalom in Pamporovo. At the Junior World Championship 2012 in Roccaraso he won the gold medal in the giant slalom and silver in the slalom and combination. On March 11, 2012, he was in the slalom in Kranjska Gora his debut in the World Cup, but failed to qualify for the second round itself. At the end of the season he was Norwegian champion in slalom.

With 11th place in the slalom by Levi on November 11, 2012 Kristoffersen won the first World Cup points. At the Junior World Championships in 2013, he chose the combined score for themselves. At the beginning of the 2013/14 season he went on 17 November 2013 slalom in Levi in third place and won with it at the age of 19 years and four months, his first World Cup podium. After two more podium finishes, he won on January 28, 2014 at the slalom in Schladming and celebrated his first World Cup victory.

In February 2014 he won the bronze medal in the slalom, with which he became the youngest alpine medalist at the Winter Olympics at the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi. In early March, he won two more World Junior Champion title ( giant slalom and slalom). On March 8, 2014 he stood for the first time in a World Cup giant slalom on the podium.
