Henri de Laborde de Monpezat Graf ( born June 11, 1934 in Talence in the department of Gironde, Southern France), since 1967, Prince Henrik of Denmark, is Prince Consort of Queen Margrethe II

Life

Henri ( Henri Marie Jean André full baptismal name ) was born as the son of André de Laborde de Monpezat ( 1907-1998 ) and his wife Renée Doursenot ( 1908-2001 ). He spent his early years in Indochina, where his wealthy father had inherited some industrial companies. In 1939 his family returned to France. After graduation he studied law and political science at the Sorbonne in Paris, then in French literature, Chinese and Vietnamese.

Henri has written the following books of poetry: Chemin faisant (1982) Cantabile (2000), Les escargots de Marie Lance Line ( 2003), Murmures de vent (2005) and Roue Libre (free-wheeling, 2010). Frederik Magles symphonic suite Cantabile is based on the book of poems by Henri.
