Henrich Mchitarjan (Armenian Հենրիխ Մխիթարյան, IPA:. [ Hɛnɾiχ məχit ʰ ɑɾjɑn ], scientific transliteration Henrix Mxit'aryan, FIFA notation after engl transcription Henrikh Mkhitaryan, born January 21, 1989 in Yerevan, Armenian SSR) is an Armenian footballer, who since the 2013/14 season at the Bundesliga Borussia Dortmund is under contract.

Career

Henrich Mchitarjan was born in 1989 in the then Soviet Yerevan. His father Hamlet Mchitarjan was also a professional footballer and played for several years at Ararat Yerevan in the Wysschaja League, the top division of the Soviet Union. His mother is Sportfunktionärin. 1989 the family moved to France, as his father had received a contract with the French club ASOA Valence. 1996, when Henrich Mchitarjan was seven years old, his father died of a brain tumor. Shortly before, the family had returned to Armenia.

Clubs

Mchitarjan began at age six in the youth department of FC Pjunik Yerevan playing football and ran until 17 years of age all youth sections of the society. It was followed by three seasons with the professionals in the Bardsragujn chumb, the top division of Armenia. He then moved to Ukraine and completed a season for the first division Metalurh Donetsk and from 2010 for three seasons for the league competitors and rivals Shakhtar Donetsk. On 28 September 2010 he made his debut in a 3-0 win over Sporting Braga in the Champions League.

In July 2013 Borussia Dortmund Mchitarjan committed for a transfer fee of 27.5 million Euros from the reigning Ukrainian champions Shakhtar Donetsk. He is the most expensive player in Dortmund's commitment club's history. In his third Bundesliga match on September 1, 2013 in Eintracht Frankfurt (2:1), he decided with his first two Bundesliga matches the game for Borussia Dortmund.

National

After Mchitarjan U-17, U-19 and U-21 national team of his country had been used for, he made his debut on 14 January 2007 in the senior team. At 1-1 in the Test match against the selection of Panama he came in to replace poor Schahgeldjan in the 60th minute.

Mchitarjan was honored for football players of 2013 in Armenia.

Others

Mchitarjan is fluent in Armenian, Russian, English, French and Portuguese. He stated that if he had not become a footballer, he would have pursued a career as a sprinter.
