Henry B. Quinby

Henry Brewer Quinby ( born June 10, 1846 in Biddeford, Maine, † February 8, 1924 in New York City ) was an American politician and 1909-1911 Governor of the State of New Hampshire.

Early years and political rise

Henry Quinby attended Bowdoin College until 1872. He then studied medicine until 1880 at the National Medical College in Washington. Quinby was a member of the Republican Party. Already in the years 1872-1873 he was senior staff of Governor Ezekiel A. Straw. Between 1887 and 1889 he was a member of the House of Representatives from New Hampshire, from 1891 to 1893 he was a member of the State Senate. After that, he was until 1893 in the Government ( Executive Council) of his state. In 1893 he was a delegate to the Republican National Convention and 1896 he was chairman of the Congress in New Hampshire. At that time, Quinby president of a bank and curator of the state hospital.

In 1908, Henry Quinby was elected governor of his state. He joined his two-year term on 7 January 1909.
