Henry Banks

Henry Banks ( born June 14, 1913 in Croydon, Surrey, United Kingdom, † December 18, 1994 in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA) was an American race car driver of British origin.

Career

Banks was born in England but grew up in Royal Oak, Michigan. He drove numerous Midget car races and took 1936-1953 also at 43 races of the AAA National series part. Although him there in total, only one victory succeeded ( in 1950 in Detroit ), he also won the championship thanks to its reliability in the same year.

He started five times in his career in the 500 miles of Indianapolis. His best finish he achieved in 1951 with a sixth place in a Moore - Offenhauser. However, Six times he could not qualify for the race, but took three times during the race, the vehicle of another driver, which was then allowed.
