Henry Carey (writer)

Henry Carey (* 1687, † October 4, 1743 in London) was an English poet and composer.

He composed musical farces and songs, including the drama The Honest Yorkshireman ( 1736), known in English-speaking ballad Sally in Our Alley, which appeared in 1737 printed in a collection of his works.
