Henry County (Kentucky)

Henry County is a county located in the state of Kentucky in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is New Castle.

Geography

The County is located in northern Kentucky, is located in the north and west, approximately 20 km from the state of Indiana and has an area of 754 square kilometers, of which five square miles are water. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Carroll County, Owen County, Franklin County, Shelby County, Oldham County and Trimble County.

History

Henry County was formed on December 14, 1798 from parts of Shelby County. It was named after Patrick Henry, a patriot.

According to the census in 2000, lived in Henry County 15,060 people in 5,844 households and 4,330 families. The population density was 20 people per square kilometer.
