Henry Cullen Adams

Henry Cullen Adams ( born November 28, 1850 in Verona, Oneida County, New York, † July 9, 1906 in Chicago, Illinois ) was an American politician. Between 1903 and 1906 he represented the state of Wisconsin in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Already in 1851, Henry Adams came with his parents to Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. There he attended the public schools and later the Albion Academy. He then studied at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. After his studies, Adams worked in agriculture. At the same time he proposed as a member of the Republican Party launched a political career. Between 1883 and 1885 he sat as an MP in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Between 1884 and 1890 he had the oversight of the public property of the State of Wisconsin. He also worked for several farmers associations. He was president of the dairy farmers association and Secretary of State Horticultural Society. From 1895 to 1902 he was State Representative for milk and food.

In the congressional elections of 1902, Adams was in the second electoral district of Wisconsin in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Herman Bjorn Dahle on March 4, 1903. After a re-election, he could remain until his death on July 9, 1906 in Congress. He was regarded as a progressive Republican, and was involved in the preparation of some food laws.
