Henry Head

Sir Henry Head (* August 4, 1861 in London, † October 8, 1940 ) was an English neurologist.

Life

Head first studied natural sciences, then medicine at the University of Cambridge. In 1892 he received his doctorate. He worked on the somatosensory system and sensory nerves. He conducted numerous experiments on himself. Named after the Head Head's zones, the Head- Holmes syndrome and Head - Riddoch syndrome.

Head was elected in 1899 a member of the Royal Society of London in 1900 and Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London. 1908, the Royal Medal of the Royal Society awarded him. 1932 Head member of the Leopoldina.
