Henry Hunnings

Henry Hunnings (* 1858, † 1935) was a British engineer from Rothwell, West Yorkshire in northern England.

Hunnings was instrumental in the development of the microphone. In 1878 he received a patent for a new type of carbon microphone, were used for the carbon rods instead of coal grains. Later, the Bell Telephone Company acquired Hunnings ' patent and produced on its basis around 10,000 units.
