Henry I, Count of Tecklenburg

Henry I of Tecklenburg (* 1115, † November 22, 1156 ) was Count of Tecklenburg.

Life

Henry I of Tecklenburg was born around 1115, the eldest son of Egbert I of Tecklenburg and his second wife Adelheid of Zutphen funds. He married Eilika of Oldenburg (c. 1120), daughter of Count II in Egilmar Lerigau.

Around 1150 he succeeded his father as Count of Tecklenburg and became a vassal of the bishops of Münster and Osnabrück, resulting in the many disputes arose. He had a lot of free float throughout Westphalia / Friesland, the power base expanded consistently and was 1154/55 with Emperor Frederick I ( Barbarossa ) in Italy.

He died on 22 November 1156th
