Life

Henry Kloss studied at MIT and in 1952 was co-founder of Acoustic Research Corporation ( AR), where he developed the AR model 1, a compact speaker with voluminous bass. The AR model 1 was the first speaker with a bass bead. This allows the membrane significantly more stroke and thus strong bass despite its compact design. Today almost each speaker based on this technique. In the early 1960s he founded the company with business partners KLH, where he developed the Model 8, a separated sharp, great sounding table radio.

In 1971, Henry Kloss the world's first cassette deck with Dolby noise reduction before, the Advent 201, and so transformed the compact cassette from Diktiermedium for music media.

Always on the search for the good sound, Kloss was a pioneer of the all-round sound and home theater. For these achievements, he was awarded an Emmy in 1997. In addition to numerous other honors, he was elected into the Consumer Electronics Hall of Fame.
