Henry Lauterbach

Henry Lauterbach ( born October 22, 1957 in Buttstädt ) is a former German track and field athlete from the German Democratic Republic (GDR), who belonged to the world-class both in the high jump and long jump.

Career

Lauterbach competed for the SC Turbine Erfurt, for his brother took tungsten, the Sixth of the European Championships 1974 in the long jump. In the GDR Championships 1981 Lauterbach finished third in the high jump to third place behind Beilschmidt and Freimuth. After years of break, he was back in the long jump and was able to place second behind Uwe Lange. In the indoor season in 1982 Lauterbach won the long jump the GDR champion. Also at the European Indoor Championships in Milan, he took up in the long jump and won the title with 7.86 meters and three centimeters ahead of the Swiss Rolf Bernhard. In 1983 he again took second place in the East German Indoor Championships behind Frank Nowak.
