Henry Noel Humphreys
Henry Noel Humphreys ( born January 4, 1810 in Birmingham, † June 10, 1879 in London) was an English writer, artist and illustrator as well as numismatists.
Humphreys was formed in part on the continent and published in 1840, after a long stay in Rome, his first work, the description of Cooke's views in Rome.
This was followed by numerous other illustrative works, such as:
- British butterflies and Their transformation ( with Westwood, 1841);
- British moths and Their transformation ( with Westwood, 1843-45, 2 vols 1860);
- The illuminated books of the middleages (1844-1849);
- Ancient coins and medals (1850 );
- The coin collector's manual (1853, 2 vols );

- Stories by to archaeologist and his friends (1856 );
- Ocean gardens (1857 );
- The butterfly vivarium or insect -home (1858 );
- Goethe in Strasbourg ( dramatic Novelette, 1860);
