Henry of Antioch

Henry of Antioch (* 1210, † 18 or June 27, 1276 ) from the family of Ramnulfiden was a son of Bohemond IV, Prince of Antioch and Plaisance of Gibelet.

He married in 1233 Isabella of Cyprus, daughter of Hugh I King of Cyprus (House Lusignan ) and Alice de Champagne, and sister of Henry I of Cyprus.

Their son was Hugo Hugo III. King of Cyprus and as Hugo I. King of Jerusalem; Moreover, they had a daughter, Marguerite de Lusignan, who married in 1268 John of Montfort, Lord of Tyre and Toron.

After the death of his nephew Hugo II, he changed his name after his wife in Henry of Lusignan. His descendants retained this change.

During a trip to Tripoli on a German ship, Henry was drowned on the 18th or June 27, 1276 in the sea. His body was later, in March 1284 in Tyre and his son Hugh III. died, brought together with the corpse to Cyprus and buried in among the Hospitallers in Nicosia, probably in the St. Sophia Cathedral.
