Henry Onwuzuruike
Henry Onwuzuruike ( born December 26, 1979 in Enugu ) is a Nigerian football player. The midfielder played his career mainly in Germany.
Career
Club career
Onwuzuruike played in his youth at Jasper United and NEPA Lagos in his home country. About the youth department of the Dutch club SC Heerenveen he came 1999 SpVgg Greuther Fürth.
When the Frankish club came Onwuzuruike on 20 November 1999, the 0-1 away defeat at the 1 FSV Mainz 05 at his pro debut in the 2nd Bundesliga. As a result, he came irregularly used and forth between starting and bench. After he could not prevail finally, he moved to Bayern division 1 SC Feucht. With his new club his 2003 promotion to the Regionalliga Süd. There he was among the top performers, and counted with seven goals behind Roberto Hilbert and Stefan Hampl to the three top scorers of the club.
The second division team FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt committed then Onwuzuruike. Even in his second pro station he staggered between starting lineup and bench, first under coach Ján Kocian he was able to fix end of the season in the root formation. Even after the descent, he remained loyal to the club at least one year and helped the team in relegation in the Regionalliga Nord. After the season he moved to the Oberliga Baden- Württemberg for TSV Crailsheim, the rise harbored ambitions. After the ascent was not made in 2007 and it failed to qualify for the new, fourth-rate Regionalliga the following season, he left the club and moved within Württemberg for SSV Ulm 1846. After a year on the Danube, the new coach Manfred Paula decided not to to plan it. After Ralf Becker started training in October 2009, but he returned to the team.
During the winter break of the 2010/11 season Onwuzuruike moved to third division SV Darmstadt 98 and had proportion to the rise of lilies in the third league. After 15 appearances in the Football League Third Round in 2011/12 he left the SV98 at the end of the season.
National team career
Onwuzuruike represented Nigeria at the U -17 World Cup in 1995. He came in two group matches and the defeat in the quarter-final against the selection of Oman used. Five years later he was part of the squad at the 2000 Olympics and was in the 1:4 defeat to Chile on the field. He also played some A- international matches for Nigeria; so he ran 2002 in some World Cup qualifying games on.
