Henyey track

As a Henyey - line is described by the Hayashi line to the main sequence in astronomy, the development path of a star in the Hertzsprung -Russell diagram. Along the Henyey - line rise in luminosity and effective temperature. The energy transport takes place by radiation diffusion.

The increase in the effective temperature and thus the length of the Henyey - line is at the low-mass stars less massive than that spend less time on the line. Caused by the onset of nuclear fusion, the luminosity of a star decreases slightly just before reaching the main sequence.

The line is named after the American astronomer Louis G. Henyey.
