Hep Records

Hep Records is a record label founded in 1974 in Scottish for swing and modern jazz.

Hep Records was founded by Alastair Robertson in Edinburgh in 1974. His label specializes in jazz from the swing era. The photographs in this period were published in the Metronome Series, such as recordings of Benny Carter, Sam Donahue, the Dorsey Brothers, Artie Shaw and Claude Thornhill as well as the records of the V-Disc era of Woody Herman, Bill Harris and other musicians around 1944 / 45

In the 1000 Series appeared, inter alia albums by Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Earl Hines, Jimmy Lunceford, Don Redman, Red Norvo and Billie Holiday / Teddy Wilson.

The 2000 Series ', which was launched in 1978, to the modern jazz and mainstream jazz dedicated in 1945; in her published albums, among others, Sandy Brown, Richard Davis, Buddy DeFranco, Slim Gaillard, Herb Geller, Jimmy Knepper, Don Lanphere, Jessica Williams, Roy Williams, Tommy Smith, Michael Hashim and Spike Robinson and Benny Waters, however, in 1984, the avant-garde album Forward Motion: The Berklee Tapes by Terje Gewelt, Tommy Smith, and Ian Froman Lazlo Gardonyi.
