Her Majesty's Prison Service

The Her Majesty's Prison Service ( roughly translated Prison Service Her Majesty ) is the uppermost Prison Service in England and Wales. The Authority is presented as such to the British Ministry of Justice. The HMPS is responsible for the management and operation of 138 prisons and for the employment of some 44,000 prison staff in these facilities.
