Herbert Fritzenwenger

Herbert Fritz Wenger ( born October 7, 1962 in Ruhpolding ) is a former German biathlete and cross-country skiers.

His best result in the World Cup 1985 was the third place in the individual 20-kilometer in Antholz. In 1988 he participated in the Olympic Games in Calgary in both the biathlon (20 km individual competition ) as well as in cross-country skiing (50 km and cage rotor 4 x 10 km relay ) part.

After his athletic career, he took over in 1991 the line of the former Federal service center for biathlon in Ruhpolding. As a member and president of the organizing committee in Ruhpolding, he was until 2002 responsible for the development of the sport of biathlon.

1992 Biathlon World Team Challenge was launched by him and organized. Since 2002, the WTC was carried out at the Veltins - Arena Aufschalke. As marketers in the years 1999 to 2003, he was able to sell the rights to most of the Biathlon World Cup and the Biathlon World Championships in 2003 with his former company Fritz Wenger & Friends.

He was one of the co-developers of the sending profile Star biathlon. In the years 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2013 was achieved ratings of up to 5.5 million viewers in the ARD. In 2010 he was involved in the development of SAT.1 program " Winter Games the Stars." Both transmission formats have been realized in collaboration with the production company First Entertainment.

He has worked as a commentator for the Biathlonwettberwerbe for ZDF.

Since November 2003 he has been President of the GC Ruhpolding.

From mid-May 2009 to 31 July 2012, he took over for the German Skiing Association DSV sporty line of federal support point Berchtesgaden / Ruhpolding in the disciplines of biathlon, cross-country skiing, Nordic combined and ski jumping.
